Eureka: Do You See What I See?
Episode Description:
As Carter and Allison prepare a Christmas surprise for the kids, a wave of energy sweeps over Eureka, transforming everyone into animated characters.
Preview:
Every year shows come out with their take on the same old Christmas stories, but every once in a while you get a truly unique/fun Christmas episode. Leave it to Eureka to come up with a totally original take on a Christmas story.
Allison’s surprise for Jenna is a computerized Story Book. The book allows the reader to build the story by selecting character, villains, animation styles, and many other options.
Jack’s surprise for Allison and the kids is to use a massive Photonic generator to create a White Christmas for Eurka.
The fun ensues when the book gets control over the Photonic Generator and changes everyone’s perception to match the story the kids are creating. Suddenly the entire town of Eureka and its inhabitants are turned into cartoon characters. The kids are completely unaware any of this is happening as they are safe within the Smart House Sarah’s shields.
I don’t want to get any further into the story, because I don‘t want to spoil it for any one, but I just have to say…
Snowman Ninjas!!! Or Sninjas as they are called in the episode.
This was a pure joy to watch, and I highly recomend it to anyone. It’s full of good old fashioned Chrstmasy stuff and some new twists in there to keep it interesting. Sninjas!!!

Diamond Book Distributors have announced that the first three of the Target reprints are shipping this week.
The Target novelizations of the Classic Doctor Who series were created in a time before frequent repeats and home video. For the longest time they were the only way fans could experience a Doctor Who episode again. Many featured cover art by acclaimed fantasy artist Chris Archilleos, and written by the original episodes’ writers. When I was young they were the only way to “see” any of the lost Doctor Who epsiodes. Quite frankly these novelizations were often much better to the original show as they were not hampered by small budgets.
This summer, BBC Books has reissued several of these classic Target novelization. With beautiful reproductions of the original Chris Archilleos covers. The reprints also feature brand new introductions from today’s top Science Fiction and Fantasy writers, including Stephen Baxter, and Neil Gaiman.

I know what you’re thinking, “We already bought this didn’t we?”. As our loyal listeners have no doubt noticed, there’s been a couple of dry weeks with no podcast. Since nobody’s mentioned anything, I thought I’d take a moment to update the system, so to speak.
The bottom line is, life happens. We’ve had a couple of technical difficulties and some scheduling conflicts. Having said that, let me reassure everyone that we’re not quite dead, and neither is our podcast. Our monthly meetup is this Saturday at Comic Book Craze, and I’m fairly certain we’ll record a round table session like we did last month. I’d like to encourage people to come by and be a part of it. Hope to see you there!
