SciFiJunkie’s News Letter

It’s been a long time since I’ve done one of my newsletters. A lot has changed on the website since then. Now, I hate to say it, but I am extremely behind on watching all the new shows recently started. The SyFy Channel was kind enough to start their new season with their powerhouse night, and I have let it record on my DVR. I just haven’t had time to go and watch it. Okay, okay, that’s not necessarily true. The reality of the situation is that I have been busy doing other things and haven’t taken the time to watch any of the new stuff.

I have been watching The 4400 on DVD via Netflix. This actually is turned out to be quite a darn good little series. I’m not sure exactly where I was when this was going on, but I remember thinking I should be watching it. For some reason I was under the impression that this was a mini-series and not a full TV series. Now that I’ve gotten started with it all, I’ll continue ordering DVDs until I’m completely finished. It’s actually quite good.

In addition to this, I’m sure you’re aware by now if you’re reading this that I’ve updated the website. After six or eight months, it just gets boring looking with the same old thing, and we really needed something new. So I set out looking for a new theme, “found one!” I just could not live without. I hope that you’ll enjoy it as much as I have. I think it looks a lot better, the real question is, will it be as functionally sound as it is visually pleasing?

SciFiFX.com podcast has also been going through some changes as of late. We’ve taken on a little bit more seriousness to our podcasts, our website and all of our content for that matter. As you may have noticed I’ve began writing quite a bit, and I enjoyed it a lot. Now here’s to hoping that I don’t suck too badly as a writer. My problem has always been getting the words out of my mind and onto the page. That recently has been resolved with a new piece of software. It almost feels like I’m in a Star Trek movie; I tell the computer what I want to write, and it puts it on the page.

Now more on the changes to the SciFiFX.com podcast. We’re honored to have Troy back, helping with a variety of things including taking on some of the producers tasks. In addition to that, it will be nice having him back on the podcast on a regular basis. Not that that it would be a surprise as of late; he has been on quite a bit the last few weeks.

Well, I suppose that’s all for now. I’m off to watch a little bit of the shows I have been recording on my DVR and haven’t had time to watch. Seems to have gotten a little bit late, as it always does when you’re working on computers. But for now, enjoy a good TV show, watch something different that you haven’t seen before, and come back and let me know what I’m missing. Thanks for reading, and we’ll talk to you next time.
