According to US iTunes figures released by Apple today Doctor Who is the Top Selling TV Season for 2011.

The Time Lord outranked US hit shows including the Emmy winning sitcom Modern Family and Glee.  As well as top rated premium cable shows like Dexter and True Blood.

TOP-SELLING SEASONS:

1. Doctor Who
2. Modern Family
3. Dexter
4. Breaking Bad
5. True Blood
6. Top Gear
7. Glee
8. Entourage
9. Archer
10. The Walking Dead

In the UK fans can watch the current series on the BBC iPlayer service.  The Impossible Astronaut is currently the 2nd most watched episode of the year.
