Star Wars: The Clone Wars Ends… and Continues
Lucasfilm has officially announced the end of Star Wars: The Clone Wars as a television series. As many of us feared, the gear-up to Episode VII translated to the demise of many current projects. And yet, it’s not all doom and gloom as we surmised. While the series has officially fallen victim to Order 66, new stories will be forthcoming. As proof of this, supervising director Dave Filoni promises “the best is yet to come,” and offers video footage from upcoming stories.
So what new direction will The Clone Wars be taking? If I had to hazard a guess, I’d say direct-to-video releases. But if anything’s been proven to be true when it comes to Lucasfilm over the decades, expect the unexpected.

I imagine since season 6 is essentially done, they will probably release each 4 or 3 part story as a Direct to DVD Clone Wars movie.
