NEW YORK – March 1, 2012 – Coming off its most watched year ever, Syfy today announced that it will hold its annual star-studded 2012 upfront at the American Museum of Natural History on Tuesday, April 24, beginning at 6:30PM. This year, Syfy will create an opportunity for guests to live like an “Igniter” – highly imaginative people that move brands forward – along with celebrity Igniters from the worlds of business innovation, music and culinary arts.

For the upfront season, using both Simmons data and a custom study conducted with PSFK, Syfy recently revealed key insights into the role highly imaginative people play to drive brands forward faster, making them Igniters. Simmons demonstrates that Igniters are the first to find, try and buy new products and then influence the masses to do the same, while the PSFK study adds that Igniters are a powerful force in today’s marketplace because portability and social media have given rise to countless new tools for Igniters to share their finds and insights.
