Teach Your Computer "Klingon"

...and about a hundred other, better things to do immediately spring to mind. But not, it seems, for Brian Connors, creator of the new computer programming language "Var'aq" (Va-RAHK). First released on the internet last summer, Connors invites software developers to test his twisted creation at www.geocities.com/connorbd/varaq and see what it's capabilities are. Var'aq allows developers to create video games and word-processing software using the harsh, gutteral dialect.
But it wasn't easy designing a language in the cutthroat world of such giants as Sun and Microsoft. Star Trek was never all that big on details, when it came to how the Klingon computer systems operated, so Connor was forced to dream all that up himself. Critics of Var'aq however have one chief complaint, that it's "not alien enough." To correct this, Connors is hard at work on Var'aq 2.0.
In the meantime, we here at www.scififx.com would like to say, "Maj'Qa!"
