Review:

WARNING: THERE ARE NO SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW!

I have always been a fan of the Headless Horseman legend ever since I was a child. I have also always liked bad B SciFi/Horror movies, I’m not exactly sure why but I do. So when I got a screener from the SciFi Channel called Headless Horseman needless to say I was intrigued. Plus it stared Richard Moll (Bull from Night Court), a class act in B movies for the last couple of decades. Now lets get to the fake blood guts and gore of Headless Horseman. The story was pretty much non-existent, this town apparently has to trap 7 college age kids there once every 7 years on Halloween so that the Headless Horseman can show up and take their heads. If he doesn’t manage to take 7 heads on Halloween night every 7 years he ceases to exist and so does the town and everyone in it. As he takes the heads he drops them in this toilet to Hell in his basement.

Apparently Hell has a plumbing problem, maybe the Headless Horseman should call Jason and Grant from Ghost Hunters. Anyway while he is making his head deposits to Hell, he starts to grow his own head back, so after 7 heads he gets his whole head back, but wait this has been going on every seven years since 1862. So shouldn’t he have gotten his head back the first time around, or does he loose it every time? Well plot holes can be excused in a B Schlock Horror Movie, as long as there is plenty of running around, screaming, and blood. Headless Horseman delivers on this with plenty of bad prosthetic shots and lots of squirty blood. I would have given this a 4 but the acting was really quite bad with the exception of Richard Moll who in my opinion for someone that got billed as the star of this movie was rarely on screen. All in all a decent movie to sit and watch with a bunch of friends and a few stiff drinks. Quite a lot of fun to MST3K it.
