Big Finish
I Love the Big Finish Doctor Who full cast audio dramas. Today I was listening to some of their old podcasts to get caught up, I'm also woefully behind on listening to the actual audio plays. One bit of news that was not Doctor Who related that I thought people might be interested in hearing is that they are bringing back their line of Judge Dredd audios, but instead of full cast like the original line they are doing them in the vein of the Doctor Who Companion Chronicles where they just have one or two actors acting out all of the parts like a more traditional audio book, except they throw in some background music and sound effects to make it a more robust experience.
I have to add that they will probably sound like full cast stories thought because Toby Longworth who plays Judge Dredd, is known for the many character voices he can do.
As a matter of fact the last Dredd audio was titled Solo and the entire cast of characters was played by Toby Longworth. Checking the Big Finish website I see that they have already realsed the first 3 of this new series known as Judge Dredd: Crime Chonicles. If you like Dredd you should head over to the Big Finish website and download a copy or get a subscription.

I'm all for any new audios from Big Finish I can get. I too am behind on the Doctor Who audios, but I've love them, as well as their work with Judge Dredd, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Luther Arkwright, and Highlander. Good stuff!

They are also going to do a series of Sherlock Holmes full cast audios. I know you aren't a fan of the new Robin Hood Series by the BBC, but Big Finish also does their enhanced auido books of that as well.

I just heard on the Big Finish Podcast that they are now offering all their downloads in both MP3, and iPod audio book format. Also the Cyberman 2 series of audios is now out.
I just redownloaded an older Doctor Who audio from Big Finish, and it seems they haven't got all the old ones converted to audio book format yet, but they did mention in the podcast that they would get to all of them eventually it just takes some time to convert the entire catalog.

I heard earlier this year that they lost their license to publish the Doctor Who Short Trip anthologies. Apparently they also no longer have the rights to even sell them after the end of the year, so you can only buy them until December 31st. If anyone is interested in picking up some copies they have them all on clearance at the Big Finish website.

I'd love to hear what they can do with Sherlock Holmes. Will it be like the old Basil Rathbone stuff or the new Downey film or somewhere inbetween?

They are based on some stories and one man plays writen by David Stuart Davies. He's written some Sherlock Holmes books in the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle style. The first 2 are written by David Stuart Davies and stars Roger Llewellyn as Holmes, and are in BF's enhanced audio book format. The third is written by Brian Clemens and stars Nicholas Briggs as Holmes, and is a full cast audio drama. Llewellyn and Briggs have both played Holmes in stage plays before, so they should be very good performances.
