The update's not bad, it's just uninspired. It's very "meh" to me. Too much Black Canary, not enough originality. Jim Lee was part of the "hot artist" trend of the 90s, and I never could figure that out. He's decent, but he's not great. It's like his drawing style and the ideas he comes up with are both sketchy and unfinished. I'm sure that equates to "edgy" in somebody's mind, but to me that's just lazy.

If they're going to alter the timeline and change the origin, the costume should rightfully have nothing in common with the original version. I'm curious to know how come she still has the logo, the color scheme, and - most notably - the lasso. Also, does she still have her powers? Does she still have any of the principles she was taught as a warrior and/or a peacemaker? There's so many things that I'm questioning right now. I haven't read it yet, but I trust that all will be revealed in time. Right now it's just driving me nuts on all the possible story points.

Pretty cool but I find it more likely to say that the older one is better. :|

Yea. I like the older one better myself, but I am old so that is to be expected I would guess. Laugh

I'm in complete agreement. The older one IS better. Ask anyone who's been there: you can't improve on a classic. And in this case, they're aren't attempting to. What they are doing is injecting new life into a character that hardly anyone reads. Sadly, it's this kind of shake-up that gets people to take notice. And as it's been done in the past, the classic uniform will be there waiting at the end of the run.
