They should only show us important plot driving bits back on earth. Honestly I really don't care about each crew members home life back on earth. I think that was one of the biggest problems with the new Doctor Who was they went back home and delt with the companions personal lives too much. I hope they finally stop that in the new season, for both shows.

***Beware The May Be Spoilers Below***
Ok, I know its been a little while since the SciFi Club Meetup, but here is my preview of the next episode of Stargate Universe.
Space airs on SyFy Channel on Frdiay March 12th 2010.
Colonel Young uses the stones to make a report back to earth about Rush being left behind, but when he does there is a malfuntion and Young ends up in the body of an Alien. Wow, finally something that might actually be interesting, but wait lets not get ahead of ourselves this is Stargate Universe. Anyway the aliens take this as a hostile act, as any sensible race would. So they track down the Destiny and attack it. I think the new Aliens, I'm assuming at some point they'll actually name them, look pretty good. Their main ships on the other hand are essentially boxes, and their shuttles/fighters look like Microsoft Optical Mice.
When an alien ship attatches to your ship and cuts a hole in the hull, who in their right minds immediatley runs up to the hole and looks in it? Since they are in the middle of battle I would expect a boarding party to be coming though that hole with weapons blasting. But that is exactly what Chloe does, and of course gets taken prisoner. Young decides to use the stones again to go aboard the alien ship and try to reascue Chloe.
The part that really bugs me is that while they have an alien imprisoned in Young's body on the Destiny they ask it why the alien's attacked them. This goes back to the point I was making before. As far as the Aliens are concerned the Destiny crew somehow managed to slip a spy onboard their ship and temporarily imprison one of their crew, by most sensible beings this would be considered an act of war or an act of hostility at the very least.
While on the alien ship Young finds that the aliens have captured Rush. At the end of the episode Rush tells everyone that the aliens aren't interested in the humans, but that they want the Destiny. The Aliens have been watching the Destiny for a long time, they just haven't been able to get past its defenses. It doesn't make sense, if the aliens can just land a shuttle on Destiny's hull and cut a hole right into the ship, then why haven't they borded before now, the defenses obviously haven't been keeping them out.
At least there was some action in this episode, and we got to see a space battle, as limited as it was. As far as the Stargate Franchise goes this was merely a mediocre episode.

***Beware The May Be Spoilers Below***
Divided airs on SyFy Channel on Frdiay March 19th 2010.
Young figures out that Rush kept one of the Communications Stones for himself and that is why they had the "malfunction" in the previous epsiode that put him on the alien ship. There were only 5 communications stones to keep track of, but no one noticed that one had been missing since the first episode? I mean I know they have a lot of problems, but they should be able to track of an inventory of 5 stones pretty easily, especially since the case they are stored in has 5 cut out sections to put them in.
Then they revert to an 80's sitcom staple for the plot. They painted a line down the middle of the ship, civilians on one side and the military on the other. I'm not sure how the civilians thought this was going to play out, but they must not have given it much thought. I'm not going to discuss this episode much as it was pretty pointless, and just all around bad writing like most of those 80's sitcom episodes where 2 room mates paint a line down the middle of the room.
