It's supposed to look circa late 1960s, and that was high-budget back then. We've had a lot of improvements since then, which is why we have so many fan-made productions now. If you think you can do better, I'd certainly encourage it. The fans want good Trek...or anything else for that matter. Prove your worth, you might get a contract!
