Default Star Wars Live Action Series

Posted at TheForce.net:

io9.com has posted a new article about leaked details of the upcoming live-action series. Before you get all excited, please bear in mind a couple of things:

1. Though we're fans of io9, this new article really just re-hashes info we already know such as the time-frame of the series and lack of Jedi.

2. While speaking of the whole Karen Traviss situation, the writer may have gotten the live-action series confused with The Clone Wars. Sure their may have been eventual cannon issues with Boba Fett in the live-action series as there were in the Mando revisions in TCW, but I thought it was The Clone Wars issues that caused the "Travissty" of a situation. Either way, what's done is done. Traviss is no longer a Star Wars writer and the Mandalorians seem to be doing quite fine in the hands of Lucas and Filoni.

Click here for the article if for nothing else to keep your excitement up for what's to come in the not-too-distant future.

They've been promising this series for years, I'll believe it when I see it. They only way Lucas will be able to produce 20 Hours of television a year will be if he has VERY little input in it. Is this series suposed to follow the Rebel Scum in between trilogies, or mercenaries? If its follows mercenaries, and there are no Jedi, then isn't it essentially Firefly in the Star Wars universe?

You might be surprised what he can pull off. Just like with Clone Wars, or even Empire and Jedi, he hands the reins over and says "this is what I want, these are my outlines." Then he approves things and adds things. According to Filoni, he's very hands on with Clone Wars, and since this live action series will gear up as Clone Wars ends, I have no doubts as to how involved he will be.

The running gag on the Force Cast is that it'll be the adventures of the Weequay garbage man. I wouldn't take what he says as gospel at this point as to what won't be there. He did say Clone Wars would have no bounty hunters, and there they are. He likes to start from a certain point and then evolve. A person in this time wouldn't be a Jedi to most people. A former Jedi, yes. It's all from a certain point of view. The one thing I expect he'll follow through with a limited Vader. I'm sure we'll see him for sweeps week, but we'll probably be given other officers that answer to him, or perhaps they'll pull Starkiller, the secret apprentice. Right now, it's all speculation.
